Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a highly beneficial practice that is available to all students at all levels.  It is different from a Hatha Yoga practice but can be a perfect complement to a more active (Yang) practice.  It is a time to slow down, cultivate stillness and create space.   Instead of stretching and stimulating the muscles, Yin Yoga focuses on long, passive holding of specific postures that target the body's deep connective tissues—ligaments, joints, and fascia—promoting flexibility, joint mobility, and energetic balance.

Suitable for all levels—no previous yoga experience is necessary. Ideal for those seeking stress relief, greater flexibility, or a mindful reset.  This practice is the perfect antidote to the busyness of everyday life, whether practiced in the morning or as you ease into your evening.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a gentle, prop-supported yoga practice.  It is designed to help you unwind, release tension, and reconnect with your breath.  Revitalize the body and restore your nervous system by holding poses for an extended period of time.    This allows the body to gently open to the benefits of the pose, and for you to surrender into relaxation. This is an extremely healing practice, and although subtle, its benefits are profound.

Perfect for all levels—including beginners and those recovering from injury—this class invites you to slow down and embrace the healing power of rest. Whether you're looking to complement a more active practice or simply need a moment of peace, restorative yoga offers a nurturing space to restore and rejuvenate.

Together, we create space for healing, release, and resilience in a compassionate, non-judgmental environment. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

Lisa’s grief journey began with the loss of her mom in 2004.  Yoga was an integral part of her grieving process during this time.  In 2015- 2016, Lisa experienced a tremendous number of family losses, 12 deaths in 18 months.  These included the death of 2 parents, the suicide of her younger brother, the loss of her step-sister, as well as some very special uncles.  Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga and Meditation were essential to her during this period of time.  Feeling the need to help others through this process, led Lisa to do further training in Grief Yoga, Grief Movement, Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga in the last several years as well as completing her Reiki Mastery.   She looks forward to helping you along your grief journey.

Yoga for Grief is a program offered and funded through Hospice Huronia.  Donations through Hospice Huronia help to support this and all the other programs and the support that they offer our community, is greatly appreciated
